Two weeks after the United States triumph at the Gold Cup over Mexico at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (1-0 AET), Transfermarkt has updated the market values of 16 players that stood out at the tournament. Among the biggest market value winners were Canadian Tajon Buchanan, who was voted the best young player of the tournament, and American striker Daryl Dike; he remains a hot commodity on this summer's transfer market.

Gold Cup - All new market values at a glance

The market value update impacts players from eight different leagues from Costa Rica's Primera División where Alonso Martínez made the jump from $330,000 to $440,000 to Israel's Ligat ha'Al where Suriname's Gleofilo Vlijter saw his market value grow by 100% from $175,000 to $330,000. The Qatar Stars League will receive their own independent update and, as a result, Qatari national team players were not included.

MLS had the most updates. Seven Major League Soccer players received new market values as part of their performances at the Gold Cup. The biggest winner was New England Revolution winger Buchanan.

Buchanan now 4th most valuable Canadian - One of four Canadians updated

The 22-year-old winger was not only the best young player at the tournament, following in the footsteps of fellow Canadian star Alphonso Davies, who won the award in 2017. Buchanan could soon join Davies in Europe, perhaps even in the Bundesliga. The winger has been linked to both Augsburg and Freiburg but Belgian side Brugge are also interested. His market value jumps by 75% from $4.4 million to now $7.7 million making him the fourth most valuable Canadian on the planet

Buchanan was one of two Canadians playing in MLS to receive a new market value. The other one was Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau (+$550,000 to $2.2m).

Two other Canadians, who have already made the step to Europe have also seen their market value increase. Paços de Ferreira midfielder Stephen Eustáquio (+$1.1m to $4.4m) and Theo Corbeanu (+$550,000 to $1.1M), who is currently on loan from Wolverhampton at Sheffield Wednesday also received updates thanks to their tournament performances.

USMNT with three upgrades - Funes Mori and Pineda increase slightly

Three American players also saw their market value updated. Tenerife's Shaq Moore jumped from $880,000 to $1.1 million and Atlanta United's Miles Robinson, who scored the game-winner against Mexico in the final was upgraded from $3.3 million to $4.4 million. Robinson is now the fourth most valuable US center-back

Meanwhile, Orlando City striker Dike continues to improve his market value. The striker scored two goals at the tournament but did not play the final. Even though his performances were mixed, talk about a potential transfer south of $11 million continues and, leading to a further market adjustment for the talented striker. Dike is now the second most valuable US center-forward.

Dike was not the only striker to see his market value increase. Two Mexican forwards, Rogelio Funes Mori and Orbelín Pineda saw their market values improve despite yet another second place behind their American rivals. Funes Mori saw his market value improve by $550,000 to $7.15 million and Pineda jumped from $8.25m to $8.8m.
